The Mission: Kaaya (Udita Goswami), a girl raised in a strict Buddhist environment, is sent to Delhi to bring back a young boy named Llahmo, believed to be the reincarnation of a high lama.
The Incident: While in Delhi, the young boy witnesses the murder of a police officer.
The Conflict: Shiven (John Abraham), a practical and honest police officer, takes charge of the case. He realizes the boy's life is in danger because the killer is a high-ranking corrupt cop, ACP Raj Mehra (Gulshan Grover).
The Escape: To protect the boy, Shiven escapes with Kaaya and Llahmo to the remote valley of Spiti. During the journey, Shiven is severely injured.
The Romance: While Shiven is nursed back to health at Kaaya’s home, the two develop a deep attraction. This creates a moral dilemma for Kaaya, whose father (Mohan Agashe) views such earthly desires as "paap" (sin).
The Resolution: Shiven's past and the corrupt officers eventually track them down to the monastery. After a final confrontation, Kaaya chooses to follow her heart, ultimately reuniting with Shiven.
