Osho on India

My Comment: Here is just a glimpse of Osho on India and sri sri ravi shankar says that Osho didn't like India. Dharam ki dukaane toh aaj hai aur kal nahi par dharma shahswat hai maharaj ji. Osho's name will be written with golden letters in the history of humanity. Even ordinary disciples of osho knows him better than you but one is doing for the sake of boosting one's market value. :-)

On India's Spiritual Essence

"India is not just geography or history... It is vibrating with certain energy fields which no other country can claim".

"India has the longest, deepest search for truth. Many Buddhas have walked on this land, under these trees; the very earth has become sacred".

"This is the distinction between a journey and a pilgrimage: a journey is going from one point to another point in space, a pilgrimage is going from without to within... That is India".

On Contemporary India and Challenges

"India is too old, my message is too new. India is ancient, traditional; I am rebellious".

"Indians themselves have forgotten about them [their roots]. In fact, they are no longer interested in their own heritage".

"If India loses its ego, there is a possibility of a rebirth. The country can be reborn".

On the Need for Transformation

"I am making every possible effort to shatter their egos because that is the only hope".

"India also needs a discontinuity with the past. The past hinders".

Osho viewed India as holding immense potential for a "rebirth" of consciousness, yet argued it required a radical departure from outdated traditions to reconnect with its inner, spiritual essence.
