Sardar Mohinder Singh Randhawa

Sardar Mohinder Singh Randhawa (1909-1986) was a versatile Indian civil servant (ICS officer), botanist, historian, and art promoter, known for his pivotal roles in India's Green Revolution, the resettlement of Partition refugees, planning Chandigarh, and documenting Indian art, particularly Pahari paintings, earning him the title "Punjab da Chhewan Dariya" (the sixth river of Punjab). He significantly influenced Indian agriculture, established the Chandigarh Museum, and was a prolific writer on art, history, and botany.
