J Krishnamurti, Ramesh Balsekar, etc. might be saying the truth, but without bhakti bhaav, it's all dry and boring. 

Intellectual understanding through verbal satsang, moorti pooja (Image Worship), kirtan, paath, or meditation or just at a place of worship or corner of your home... anything may work to awaken the witnessing consciousness within. One needs to figure out what works for oneself.
